This is an awesome infographic by the folks at xkcd. I made it more reasonably sized. Click it for a better view. It is definitely worth it.

Religion on the Verge of Extiction in Several Countries

Religion on the verge of extinction in many countries: math study

(PhysOrg.com) -- A study recently released by a team from Northwestern University and the University of Arizona shows that religion and religious affiliations may be on the verge of extinction in the nine countries studied. Utilizing a mathematical model of nonlinear dynamics, the team analyzed data from censuses taken in nine different countries dating as far back as a century.

The Smithsonian Museum has a helluva ad team. These are nothing if not awesome.

Last Night with Billl Nye

Yesterday, I made a post about seeing Bill Nye live. I realized that a lot of you aren't from the US and wouldn't have heard of him. To be short, he was the host/writer of one of the most popular science education shows in the United States. He inspired a generation of kids to develop an interest in science.

Anyway his lecture was awesome.

He is funny in real life as he was in the show. The focus of his talk was to inspire the scientists/engineers in the crowd to make a difference. He talked a lot of the problems we have with the human population, addressing skeptics of climate change, and the need for science education. He gave a list of specific problems we could address involving city design, solar panel efficiency, material science, and ending a ridiculous farm subsidy system that makes beef cheaper than salad.

It was funny, it was inspiring, it was educational, and it was pretty much everything I expected from Bill Nye the Science Guy.

and yes he had the bowtie!

BILL BILL BILL BILL BILL

Man, tonight is the fucking night! I am about to fufill my childhood dream of this guy.

He is having a round table discussion at my University and then later doing a full on lecture.

I'm attending both.

Anyway, I just thought I would share.

If you said "Consider the Following" in your head in Bill Nye's voice you must post.

Have a good day, loyal followers

Inglip Summoned

I came across this most excellent meme a while back. I'm not quite up to date to how this meme got its start but I think it has something to do with this:

This meme involves turning captcha into a somewhat epic story. It is one of the most creative and hilarious things I have seen come out of the asshole of the internet. I have therefore created a large collection.

I'll be posting more in the future if I get positive feedback.

Good vs. Bad Video Games

This is from Cracked (great comedy website) and it is awesome. Well worth clicking if you can't see.

Also, sorry for the short blog. I've got three tests tomorrow!

Edit: Sorry about the small picture. Tried to reupload and google reduces it every time. I'll try to find an original link a bit later. It is quite good

Edit: Thanks to Voit for the right link!

Man Gets High On Fake Weed, Leads Cops On Chase To Save Girlfriend From Aliens

I couldn't possibly think of a better title for this one.

Enjoy:

Richard Donald Blanscet's Wednesday night antics should vault him to Internet stardom. Why? He got high on Mr. Nice Guy "synthetic marijuana" then hopped into his burgundy Jaguar to save his girlfriend from an alien invasion--after hearing Dr. Phil's voice in his head. Along the way he sparked a 120-mph police chase.

It all went down in Rowan County, North Carolina last night. With cops, fire trucks, and EMS personnel already at his house after he reacted poorly to his fake weed, Blanscet heard Dr. Phil, speaking in a high-pitched voice, alert him that America was being invaded by aliens. Not one to shirk his duty, he immediately hopped into his burgundy Jaguar (no model mentioned in the report), nearly hitting an EMS vehicle, and streaked across the county at 100-120 mph, cops in tow, to save his girlfriend from the presumably grey-skinned hordes.

As a bonus, the chase led through the classic B-movie scenes: a cemetery, a church, and a field, before eventually ending in a crash at an intersection. Blanscet told police he didn't stop for the cars chasing him because when he saw the lights, he "realized the invasion was real and the cops were on it."

Moral of the story: don't listen to Dr. Phil.
